The Polish Magician Lives!!!

I have a feeling this reunion will be pretty unforgettable. I believe this for many reasons. The first being that Lauren is behind it all and we all know that she, being a phenomenal person, will put on a fantastic event. Second, it will be so much fun to see all of our old friends, find out what they've been up to, and hopefully establish more friendships through out the night. Third, there will be dancing...that's all I need to know. Tyler "Danger" Evans will be on the dance floor which is always pure entertainment. Who knows what moves we've all learned over this past decade. Finally, Rob Ferre will be our DJ which in of itself will be a total blast. Rob is hilarious and I'm excited to see what he'll have up his sleeve. Hopefully we can get a little "Polish Magician" out of him. Lauren also tells me that Tyler Evans and Josh Feinauer will be our emcees. There will be a short program during dinner and dancing afterwards. It will be an event to remember. Lets try to remember to RSVP to the event on Facebook (East High 98 Group) or email us at easthighclassof98@gmail.com. Buy your tickets today!!! We can't wait to see all of you there.

Dress Code

For those of you wondering what to wear to this classy event, dress code is "smart casual." It has been suggested that smart casual for men consists of dress trousers (or even crisp jeans with a sport coat), a long-sleeve dress shirt, a tie, leather loafers or dressy slip-on's, patterned socks or solid-colored dress socks, a tipped belt, and you may or may not wear a sport coat.
For women, it consists of slacks, crisp jeans or a skirt (long or short), a blouse or turtleneck, a fashionable belt, a jacket, a vest, or a sweater coordinated to your outfit, hosiery or socks with boots, flats (leather, suede, or fabric) or mid-heel shoes. Women may also wear jewelry, such as earrings that complement their overall outfit, at least. This category demands a pulled-together, harmonious, complete look with colors, fabrics, shoes, and accessories, for both men and women.

The Prez Has Spoken

For the past few months I have been working with a group of incredible volunteers planning what I think will be a fantastic reunion. We have booked a classy venue, made arrangements with an excellent caterer, and lined up some solid entertainment. It will be an evening to remember, and it is happening surprisingly soon.

I have heard from many of you that you are going to be there, but relatively few of you have purchased tickets. This isn't a problem by any means because we will be selling them at the door, but we have reached a point in the planning process where we require hard numbers. The catering company needs to know how many meals they will be preparing and we have to purchase all of the associated utensils and supplies. The JCC (our chosen venue) is only a viable option if attendance matches our projections, and based on the tickets that have been sold so far this doesn't appear to be the case. But I believe in our class and know that we can have a great reunion!

I need to know this week whether or not you are coming and if you will be bringing a guest. Perhaps most importantly, I need your answers to be as accurate as possible. The prospect of eating Little Caesar's pizza on the front lawn of East is not appealing to anyone, which is why we have planned something truly great. But it can't happen without more of you!

Purchasing your tickets online is an excellent way to let us know that you'll be there, but if you're buying yours at the door that's fine too. Please just let me know this week so that we can get things settled with the venue and our caterer.

Only four more days to purchase your reunion tickets for 38 dollars. Go to www.EastHighClassof98.com to purchase your tickets.
Congrats to Isaac Smith, who just recently got engaged! Go Smee!
In addition to the fabulous evening of dinner, dancing, and a few other surprises, Kimball High has graciously put together a morning of golf.

See you there,
Lauren

Leopards on the Links

Join us in playing in the East High Class of ’98 Golf Tournament on the morning of the Reunion, August 16th, 2008. The tournament will be held at the University of Utah golf course in their last year of operation before they turn the fairways into hallways. The first group will tee off at 8AM. The tournament is $15 for 9 holes, format depends on how many golfers or groups register. Plenty of prizes will be up for grabs in a raffle, for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last place golfers; as well as closest to the pin the longest drive.
This is a perfect opportunity to reconnect with classmates, build your network, or introduce your spouse in a fun environment. To register contact Kimball High at githigh@gmail.com or by phone at (801) 891-2582.

Let's help her out!!

Hey all. Those of you who haven't purchased tickets should probably do so SOON!! Lauren needs to put a deposit down for the event and she can't pay out of her own pocket. Tickets were $35 before June 15 and now they are $38. Get them now before they become $45 per person. Here's the payment schedule:

Now, tickets are $38.00 ( a total steal--really)
per person after July 24th: $41.00
per person after August 9th: $45.00

Tickets will also be available at the door for $50 per person.

We are also currently looking for sponsors for our reunion. If anyone is interested in helping their fellow classmates enjoy the best possible atmosphere during the event, while also receiving some excellent goodwill publicity, then this is a great opportunity. The cost would be $250 dollars which includes 2 free reunion tickets and offers you the ability to advertise your company, display your logo, or simply subject us all to an inside joke from years gone by. For more information, please contact Lauren Johnson at laurenruthie@gmail.com.

We all know Lauren is a classy lady. This will be a fabulous event if we all buy our tickets ASAP and make it all possible.
